  • VILLAGES

    Casitas
If you head to the left when exiting the back of El Centro, you will arrive at the Casita village. This area is set among colorful plazas, fountains and palm-shaded courtyards. The casitas (translation: Little Houses) resemble three and four story buildings in a village setting. This area was themed after urban areas of the American Southwestern (such as Santa Fe) and Mexico (such as Monterrey). The casitas are home to many of the convention accommodations. There are 981 guest rooms (includes 43 suites) in the casita section.

Casitas 1 and 3 are closest to the convention center and El Centro. Parts of Casitas 2, 3 and 4 are closest to the spa, salon, fitness center, guest laundry and quiet pool. The casita quiet pool is WDW's only full size lap pool, great for those guests that like to get their swimming excercise in while on vacation. The spa also has tanning beds and a steam room. CSR is the only moderate resort to offer any of these amenities. Casita 4 is nearest to bus stop #2. Casita 5 is the furthest out from the El Centro but closest to the Dig Site. A hammock has been recently added to this side of Lago Dorado in front of casita 5 so you may enjoy the beauty of the lake and its gorgeous sunsets. It's a little batch of heaven.

    Ranchos
As you continue around the path, you will reach the Rancho village. The Ranchos have a more rustic, rural flavor to them. These two and three story villas are themed after the dry, rural desert ranchland regions of the Southwest United States. This area comes complete with an Arroyo (translation: a small stream that tumbles over a rocky streambed). There are 624 guest rooms (no suites) in this area.

When entering from the casita side, rancho 6a is the first building on the left. It reminds me of a small western town with hitching posts that you would use to tie up your horse before heading into the saloon. There is also a bit more color used in this building. Some blues and maroons. Ranchos 6b and 7a are next. These are three story buildings. 7a is closest to bus stop #3. The last building is 7b. 7b and parts of 6b are closest to the Dig Site. Rancho 7b has the quiet pool and guest laundry. Ranchos 6a and 7a are the furthest buildings out and probably the quietest.

    Cabanas
As you continue around the Espanade (the walkway that encircles Lago Dorado), it brings you to the cabana village. Located on the northern shore of Lago Dorado, these adobe architecture, two story buildings contain 312 rooms (includes 3 jr suites). This area reflects the beauty and serenity of Mexico's coastal regions. More than half the rooms in this village have lake views and make them a popular choice among guests. A sandy shoreline beach, complete with hammocks, compliments this section.

Cabana 8a and 8b are very close to both bus stop #4 and the Dig Site. Cabana 9b is closest to the main building including the Pepper Market and the marina as well as bus stop #1. This is the most sought-after location. Cabanas 9a has the quiet pool and guest laundry for this village.

The quiet pools are located in each of the villages: casitas, ranchos, and cabanas. No towels are available at the quiet pools, just use your room towels. The CSR quiet pools are the first on Disney property to use Bromine instead of Chlorine! All the pools at WDW are geared with children in mind, so there are always steps into pools. The Dig Site pool as well as the quiet pools also has wheelchair access.
